La mappa dei social network nel mondo (giugno 2010)

Sei mesi dopo l’ultimo aggiornamento e a distanza di un anno dalla prima realizzazione, ho deciso di verificare nuovamente la situazione dei social network nel mondo.

La marcia di Facebook verso la conquista di nuovi territori non accenna a fermarsi (sono 111 su 131 le nazioni in cui risulta dominante). In questi mesi ha avuto la meglio su reti sociali locali che sembravano difficili da scavalcare come Friendster nelle Filippine, Wretch a Taiwan, One in Lituania o Hi5 in Portogallo, Peru, Romania, Tailandia.

Ad Orkut ha strappato l’Estonia e forse l’India (qui i dati sono incerti in quanto Alexa vede Facebook in testa, mentre Google Trends for Websites mostra un testa a testa, con una leggera prevalenza del social network di Google. Un’occhiata alle parole più ricercate in quella nazione mostra un interesse molto forte verso la creatura di Zuckerberg, che nei prossimi mesi potrebbe avere la meglio).

I paesi che resistono sono quelli dell’ex Unione Sovietica, affezionati a Odnoklassniki e V Kontakte, e in Europa l’Ungheria, la Polonia e l’Olanda.

Per alcune nazioni ho provato ad analizzare anche i follower di Facebook ed ho scoperto che, a distanza di un anno, Twitter ha iniziato ad avere la meglio su MySpace (in Australia e Canada) e su Bebo (in UK). In alcuni casi al terzo posto si affaccia lentamente anche Linkedin.
